AHDI-NEMA study group for RMT and CMT candidates will be held on Wednesdays 5 to 6:30 PM from March 7th to May 9th. This study group is meant to augment individuals’ self-study and provide another means of learning and practicing the material for the test. COST: $10/AHDI member; $35/AHDI nonmember. All sessions 5-6:30 EST.

As many of you may or may not understand ,the work that we do as Medical Language specialist revolves around us “Working Together for Patient Safety.” This is going to be the theme this year that AHDI and local chapters will be broadcasting for 2012.
This year, the NEMA board would like to participate and become more involved with the Advocacy agenda that AHDI is expanding. AHDI has been proactive in advocating for years now the critical value and contributory role of the healthcare documentation sector. This has included interest in the Patient Health story, Electronic Medical Record Adoption, Health Information Exchange, Privacy and Security, Workforce Development and Value of the Healthcare Documentation Knowledge Worker.

We wanted to let you know about the 3rd annual conference to be held next year in Richmond, Virginia, October 12-14, 2012. While this may seem like a long time away, we wanted to let you know now so you could save the date. There will be more information on the 2012 meeting page as it becomes available.
On behalf of the New Professionals Alliance steering committee I am excited to announce that we are opening up registration for all AHDI members to join the RMT Study Group! We are accepting a total of 30 participants for this 12-week-long free course starting January 5th going through March 29, 2012.
